All analyses lead to Barbosa already losing the game beginning from his 50th move, when 7 moves later, on Georgiev's 57th move, he (Georgiev) made a big blunder, which cost him the game, and his team the match.
Just like in 2010, the Wesley So vs. Veselin Topalov matchup ended in a draw. The former world champion, GM Veselin Topalov, may have been aggressive going to the middle game, but the underdog, GM Wesley So, never lost his grounds. Eugene Torre and Mark Paragua halved their points as well with their respective opponents.
The final tally: 2.5 to 1.5 in favor of The Philippines!
Bo. | Philippines | Score | Bulgaria |
| 1 | Wesley So | 1/2-1/2 | Veselin Topalov |
| 2 | Oliver Barbosa | 1-0 | Kiril Georgiev |
| 3 | Eugene Torre | 1/2-1/2 | Ivan Cheparinov |
| 4 | Mark Paragua | 1/2-1/2 | Alexander Delchev |
